Proud Infidel ranting about the ongoing war against democratic and secular values (Don't fool yourselves)! Maybe a voice of sanity in a wide ocean of madness.

No free lunches?

I was looking over some of my old posts and found this one.
In a comment Yankee Doodle says :

"With one President who isn't beholden to Big Oil and Big Islam, and we could have fusion energy on-line in a couple of years, with renewable fuels being made in America's corn belt, and our fuel dollars going to American families and American businesses instead of to sponsors of Holy Terror.Your comments are worth considering, but don't write off the environmentalists completely."

It's very true- except for the environmentalist thing. If it's anything that stops us right now from developing useful fusion energy, then it is the environmentalists! In Sweden they have made it forbidden! To even THINK about such technology! Yes, that's right. There's laws forbidding you from doing any research about nuclear energy- fission or fusion...

At the same time, our oil dependency is getting ever larger. We are shutting down nuclear powerstations and opening up new oil powerstations, and at the same time importing more and more power from nuclear powerstations abroad aswell as from fossile fuel burning power stations over at the continent!

Does this make any sense?

At the same time, the socialists want's to keep the rest of the nation in an oildepenency because that's where they get their voters from!

Ponder this!

Where would the world be right now without socialists, environmentalists and islamists (same thing really)?
We would be living in paradise on earth!

No doubt... especially seeing where the corn fiasco is leading us. Yep, lets clear more land, use more fuel, and have an even more demanding burden placed on us. We really do need freedom from oil, but the socialist/environmental extremists are going about it in a very bad way!
We could use our reserves while meanwhile working to perfect several alternative energy options.
I'd like to see thin, durable, flexible solar panels coating EVERYTHING (cars, roof tiles, you name it). It would help... You read stories about people putting them on their roof and having more than enough electricity, but they are made unavailable to most people due to taxes and useless regulations by leftists driving up the price!

Yes that would be an utopian solution to the energy problems. The problem is that no solarpanels (or windmills or whatever) can produce enough energy to pay for it's owns producing costs! Thermodynamic laws again...

But yes! You are right as far as that we have to brake the oildependency. The only way to do this- is to let scientists get their free will! Stop the mindlock! I,m pretty shure that if Swedish scientists would be allowed to even think about this. We would be a lot closer to solving the problem of fusion power. But right now; they are not allowed to!

The panels and windmills can and do pay for themselves... after enough time (maybe just a few years depending on exposure).

The production costs of panels are fixed, the energy they can absorb from the sun isn't- they are designed to run at least 20 years. No conservation of energy law would apply, considering it's not actually creating energy, just channeling it from a limitless source. Efficiency still needs improved, but there are people already selling their excess energy to the local providers, and the panels do wind up paying for themselves after about 10 years or so. :-)

Sorry again...

First you have to make a child.
Then you have to feed him ant tutor him, put him through college so hi will become an engineer- so HE can construct a machine that digs out sand. That are then transported to a factory (which of course will have to be constructed- with other machines)

Then government or private sector financing is paying for the research, the developing and the construction of the solar panels.

Then the panels has to be transported to shops- where people go in their cars to buy them (just think of the ammount of energy constructing a car!)

They only put out a few watts of energy, and has a very limited lifetime.

All these steps in production, handeling- not to mention the cost of energy taking the panel to the scrap yard when it's life time is over, cost's enormous amounts of energy! Where do we take it from?

Well It's not from solar panels. That's for shure!

I donĀ“t want to be cheeky here; but it's that damn Thermodynamic laws again...
