In one of history's more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnating without government permission.

That's amazing, especially since the CCP would claim to be atheist. God isn't supposed to exist under communism. This seems to be one more way for the Chinese CP to harass the poor Buddhists.
"Okay, so you want us to leave you alone for saying you will be reborn? Fine, we believe you, pay us!"
