'Neither sharia, nor coup d'etat,' Turks want to preserve lifestyle

I´m not shure that this is a life-sign of the secular and democratic forces in an (allmost) wholly muslim country, but I know what the leftists here in the west will say; that it´s just Kemalist nationalists that are in motion.

Maby it´s the Turk´s that will be the frontrunners of a new and democratic islamic society. Then again, 34 % of them voted for the islamistic party APK in the latest government elections. That means that there is atleast 14500000 turks in the country alone, that want´s sharia law to be the uppermost legasizlation governmenting theirs (and ours) lifes.

There has to be some reason that Mein Kampf is on the top-ten bestseller lists in virtually every muslim country- including Turkey. What could that be? OH! I just got it . Mein Kampf translated to arabic would litterally be----Jihad!

The End of the American Dream?

[...]

"There are indeed some parallels between the USA and Europe. Mass immigration to the US is aided by an unholy alliance of corrupt political elites, Big Business supporters and anti-Western Leftists. There is little doubt in my mind that some members of the political elites in North America are envious of how their counterparts in Europe through administrative decisions have managed to fool their electorates and quietly bypassed the democratic process, gradually abandoning border controls in favor of a regional block.

Left-wingers support this for the same reasons as left-wingers in Europe: They desire Third World immigrants because they tend to vote for left-wing parties and support expanded welfare states. Some left-wingers also see it as a goal to erase the Western cultural heritage and the white majority, again, just like in Europe. Some Big Business supporters tend to see immigrants as cheap labor and a new servant class. Of course, unlike some other countries, they get citizenship in the US, which means that the “servants” will eventually end up owning the country."

Is this what we in Europe (note the capital "E"- for now), is looking forward to? Sadly to say; it is most probably the way things are turning here!

I have a son, just turned four. And i´m really, really worried about how this continent will look like when he is in my age. History has proved that when the concentration of muslims in an area- may that be a´suburb, a village, a town, a city or a country- reaches a ceartain level of magnitude; it almost also ceartinly leads to violence- promoted from muhllas, imams and muslilm clerics in wahabbi petro dollar financed mosques. It is here- among us, in the wellferestates fuelled by our taxmoney- in the name of multiculturalism, that the breedingground of the most dangerous terrorists are to be found.

It is our self-hate for our own culture and heritage that is to be blamed for this humungous faliure of actually bringing in these people in to our societies. Instead, the socialistic politics has drawn us all in to one of the largest social experiments ever known in history; where we (the state) actually makes difference between people and people! If that is not the most racistic agenda ever known- I do not know what is...

That´s multiculturalism and relativism for you.

Because They Hate, Part II

Brigitte Gabriel, a Lebanese Christian who lived through jihad as a child, wrote "Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America." This is an edited version of our interview.

Larry Elder: What caused Lebanon's 1975 jihad invasion?

Brigitte Gabriel: . . . In the early '70s, Lebanon was a majority Christian country . . . a republic very much like America. We prospered. We focused on growing our economy. We were multicultural, fair and tolerant, and had an open border policy. We welcomed everybody into our country, because we wanted to share the westernizations we had created in the Middle East. . . . Sadly, many people who came didn't want to assimilate and adopt westernizations, but wanted to drag us down to their tribal Islamic culture. . . .
By 1974, Christians stopped traveling. We became prisoners in our homes and cities because Muslims would set up fly-by-night checkpoints. . . . Our religion is written on our national ID. . . . So, Muslims would stop cars, look at their IDs and if a Christian family was traveling, they would shoot them in cold blood. The whole family. . . . Extremist Muslims started coming from all around the Arabic world to fight alongside the Muslims in Lebanon.

No pigs- we are the muslims

A school in Amsterdam has halted lessons on rural life because the Islamic children refused to talk about pigs. Reporting this, Alderman Lodewijk Asscher said he wants to take "tough measures." Subsidies for all kinds of dubious groups must stop and parents of unruly children penalised financially.

Asscher told newspaper De Volkskrant: "A primary school in Amsterdam-Noord has decided no longer to teach about living on a farm. Various pupils began to demolish the classroom when the pig came up for discussion. Apparently it has gone that far. These children, 9, 10 years old, have not been given even the most elementary rules at home about why they must go to school."

Nelson Mandela is sitting at home watching TV and drinking a beer when he hears a knock at the door. When he opens it, he is confronted by a little Chinese man, clutching a clip board and yelling,

"You Sign! You sign!"

Behind him is an enormous truck full of car exhausts.

Nelson is standing there in complete amazement, when the Chinese man starts to yell louder,

"You Sign! You sign!"

Nelson says to him, "Look, you've obviously got the wrong man", and shuts the door in his face.

The next day he hears a knock at the door again. When he opens it, the little Chinese man is back with a huge truck of brake pads. He thrusts his clipboard under Nelson's nose, yelling,

"You sign! You sign!"

Mr Mandela is getting a bit hacked off by now, so he pushes the little Chinese man back, shouting: "

"Look, go away! You've got the wrong man. I don't want them!" Then he slams the door in his face again.

The following day, Nelson is resting, and late in the afternoon, he hears a knock on the door again. On opening the door, there is the same little Chinese man thrusting a clipboard under his nose, shouting,

"You sign! You sign!"

Behind him are TWO very large trucks full of car parts.

This time Nelson loses his temper completely, he picks up the little Man by his shirt front and yells at him: "Look, I don't want these! Do you understand? You must have the wrong name! Who do you want to give these to?"

The little Chinese man looks very puzzled, consults his clipboard, and says:

"You not Nissan Main Deala?"

How a British jihadi saw the light

Ed Hussain, once a proponent of radical Islam in London, tells how his time as a teacher in Saudi Arabia led him to turn against extremism.

[...]

My first clash with Saudi culture came when, being driven around in a bulletproof jeep, I saw African women in black abayas tending to the rubbish bins outside restaurants, residences and other busy places.
“Why are there so many black cleaners on the streets?” I asked the driver. The driver laughed. “They’re not cleaners. They are scavengers; women who collect cardboard from all across Jeddah and then sell it. They also collect bottles, drink cans, bags.”
“You don’t find it objectionable that poor immigrant women work in such undignified and unhygienic conditions on the streets?”
“Believe me, there are worse jobs women can do.”

[...]

A non-Saudi black student I had met at the British Council accompanied me. “Last week a woman gave birth here,” he said, pointing to a ramshackle cardboard shanty. Disturbed, I now realised that the materials I had seen those women carrying were not always for sale but for shelter.
I had never expected to see such naked poverty in Saudi Arabia.
At that moment it dawned on me that Britain, my home, had given refuge to thousands of black Africans from Somalia and Sudan: I had seen them in their droves in Whitechapel. They prayed, had their own mosques, were free and were given government housing.
Many Muslims enjoyed a better lifestyle in non-Muslim Britain than they did in Muslim Saudi Arabia. At that moment I longed to be home again.

[...]

Racism was an integral part of Saudi society. My students often used the word “nigger” to describe black people. Even dark-skinned Arabs were considered inferior to their lighter-skinned cousins. I was living in the world’s most avowedly Muslim country, yet I found it anything but. I was appalled by the imposition of Wahhabism in the public realm, something I had implicitly sought as an Islamist

Faye was not immodest in her dress. Out of respect for local custom, she wore the long black abaya and covered her hair in a black scarf. In all the years I had known my wife, never had I seen her appear so dull. Yet on two occasions she was accosted by passing Saudi youths from their cars. On another occasion a man pulled up beside our car and offered her his phone number.
In supermarkets I only had to be away from Faye for five minutes and Saudi men would hiss or whisper obscenities as they walked past. When Faye discussed her experiences with local women at the British Council they said: “Welcome to Saudi Arabia.”
After a month in Jeddah I heard from an Asian taxi driver about a Filipino worker who had brought his new bride to live with him in Jeddah. After visiting the Balad shopping district the couple caught a taxi home. Some way through their journey the Saudi driver complained that the car was not working properly and perhaps the man could help push it. The passenger obliged. Within seconds the Saudi driver had sped off with the man’s wife in his car and, months later, there was still no clue as to her whereabouts...

Fjordman: Jihad and the Collapse of the Swedish Model

[...]

A Swedish man was nearly killed for the crime of wearing clothes with his own national flag while Sweden was participating in the 2006 football World Cup. Some "Multicultural youths" found this to be an intolerable provocation, and the 24-year-old man was run down by a car in Malmö, where Muhammad is becoming the most common name for newborn boys.

Feriz and Pajtim, members of Gangsta Albanian Thug Unit in Malmö, explain how they mug people downtown. They target a lone victim. "We surround him and beat and kick him until he no longer fights back," Feriz said. "You are always many more people than your victims. Cowardly?" "I have heard that from many, but I disagree. The whole point is that they're not supposed to have a chance." They didn't express any sympathy for their victims. "If they get injured, they just have themselves to blame for being weak," said Pajtim and shrugged.

The wave of robberies the city of Malmö has witnessed is part of a "war against the Swedes." This is the explanation given by young robbers from immigrant background in interviews with Petra Åkesson. "When we are in the city and robbing we are waging a war, waging a war against the Swedes." This argument was repeated several times. "Power for me means that the Swedes shall look at me, lie down on the ground and kiss my feet." The boys explain, laughingly, that "there is a thrilling sensation in your body when you're robbing, you feel satisfied and happy, it feels as if you've succeeded, it simply feels good." "We rob every single day, as often as we want to, whenever we want to. The Swedes don't do anything, they just give us the stuff. They're so wimpy."

[...]

The number of rape charges in Sweden has quadrupled in just above twenty years. "It is not as wrong raping a Swedish girl as raping an Arab girl," says Hamid. "The Swedish girl gets a lot of help afterwards, and she had probably fucked before, anyway. But the Arab girl will get problems with her family. For her, being raped is a source of shame. It is far too easy to get a Swedish whore…… girl, I mean;" says Hamid, and laughs over his own choice of words. "I don't have too much respect for Swedish girls. I guess you can say they get fucked to pieces."

The High Guard

Me with some of my comrades debriefing with the General after doing the Royal High Guard (guarding the castle of Stockholm) in 2005.

(More later on)

When doing the high guard, you start off at the Army Museum in Stockholm; marching through the streets accopmanied by an army brass band.

The march towards the royal castle goes through some of the heaviest trafficed roads in the city. Well there, you are up for a couple of nights with almost no sleeptime. But the royal cooks make some pretty deascent grub atleast.

Standing guard in the midst of Stockholm over a weekend can be said to be... interresting at the least. Civilians do not know that we are armed hot with live ammunition, and with the legal right to actually shoot any perps advancing on our positions.

My guard stand was "Logården" Logården being situated right in front the streem adjacenting the castle. It was also one of the heaviest trafficed streets bearing along the nightcrawlers, coming from the pubs and nightclubs just over the stream.

Anyway, at about three a clock am. A pair- a guy and a girl- came strolling by our guardpost. There are some stairs leading up to the garden; who are barred off by ropes, and it was my job to see that nobody got through. The pair started to walk up the stairs, and I walked down to meet up with them.

The pair were- well, sort of under the influence- so to speak- and started chatting away with me. They asked where I was from, what unit I belonged to- and all the other usual questions you get when being formal. The guy- I noticed- was looking really hard at my rifle, and after a while popped the question. "What´s that thing on your rifle?" I understood that he meant the optic sight, and said to him "It´s an Aimpoint red dot sight!" "What does it do?" he asked. I turned up the brightness to maximum, in the darkness of the night it was allmost like a flashlight.

He took a hard long look at my rifle, then took a step down the stairs and said: "Honey! We better not make any fuzz with these guys. They got lasers!"

That´s it for now. Have a nice one everybody.

Rosengård disturbances continue

From The Local

Police reinforcements were again required in the Rosengård district of
Malmö following a series of disturbances on Monday night. The ten police
officers already patrolling the area were joined by five more as fighting broke
out and fires were lit.

"There were a lot of
people out and it wasn't until 1.45am that things calmed down and most of them
had left," said police spokesman Peter Martin.Monday's disturbances began when a
police car had its rear window smashed at around 8pm. This was followed by a
number of small fires, as loading pallets and other objects were set alight.
There was no major damage caused by these fires however and police are treating
them as vandalism.Shortly after 11pm a more serious blaze was reported in a
basement on Von Rosens Väg."We have categorized it as arson," said
Martin.Another fire at a store on Ramels Väg just before 1am is also being
classified as arson. Both fires were quickly brought under control and they did
not result in any major damage. Police were also forced to intervene when a
fight broke out between two adult men. Both were arrested after one of the men
had drawn a knife and slashed the other man's clothing. "On Tuesday morning we
are meeting with council staff and emergency services to see what we can do
together to calm the situation down. "For the time being we have set aside
special police patrols for Rosengård," said Martin

For the third night in a row, Rosengård in Malmö has been disturbed by civil unrest. "Youths" has set fire to dumpsters and storing facilities. Police patrols sent out to Rosengård were met with stonethrowing and bottles.

Arrests were done, two knife- fighters were taken in to custody.

Why is Islam Afraid of History?

Muslims are protesting again in Israel over rumors that the Jews are trying to take over the Temple Mount. The prevalent belief that somehow a Jewish temple never existed on that site has become nothing more than a reason to jihad.

I suppose it was ok to destroy millennia old Buddhist statues in Afghanistan, countless holy places in India, and even underneath the Temple Mount. We saw when Palestinians desecrated the Church of The Nativity in Jerusalem by using it as a base for snipers and desecrating the insides while doing so. No big deal. After all, it is a holy site of infidels, not a cartoon of Mohammed. Why waste a good rampage on infidels?

Like Communism banning music and religion, or Nazi book burning, Islam has a way of trying to create its own past and future. The entire world outside of Islam knows that there were Jewish temples on that site. Ancient Babylonian and Roman references to them exist, as well as the actual artifacts beneath the old Temple site. The same artifacts Arafat tried to destroy. Now the Muslims have concocted a story that those Israelis who are unearthing Jewish and Roman artifacts of the time the last temple stood, are plotting to sink the Dome of The Rock. Why would they do this? Because in the huge piles of rubble left by desecrating Palestinians, the Israelis have unearthed more proof that they existed there long before the Palestinians.

So You want to be a Liberal?

[...]

"Here's another: It seems that the threat of Global Warming is easily apparent to any 5 year old liberal when they see one Polar Bear on an ice floe yet over 8,000 Muslim attacks against Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and other Muslims since 9/11 is no proof that Islam is a threat to modern civilization.

Global warming has to be viewed from the perspective of the past 400,000 years to note that the earth cycles through temperature variations due to solar flare cycle variations, solar magnetic cycle variations, and the normal ice age cycle ( the warming due to coming out of our Little Ice Age).

So here are two more contradictory ideas: A temperature change of less than 1/10th of degree since 9/11 is proof positive that we are all doomed yet 8,000 Muslim attacks since 9/11 with the promise that Islam will dominate the world is no proof that the world is doomed. So if you believe we are headed for a world-wide cataclysm on the one hand yet we have nothing to worry about on the other simultaneously, you can be a liberal."

Malmö: A Hot Time in the Old Town Last Night

I was going to write something about this whole mess but Dymphna over at Gates of Vienna beat me to it. She covers the event pretty well. Once again, the press here in Sweden only calls the perps is only mentioned as "youths"; while everyone knows that Rosengård in Malmö is 90% muslim.

I recently read a story of how young Swedish teenage girls in Södertälje- an adjacent and neighbouring town of Stockholm- hevily populated by muslims; felt the need to cover their hair- hijab style- just not to be called (you know what) names or being sexually assaulted.

It seems that when the muslim population of an area comes to a certain concentration- a critical mass if you will- then all hell breakes loose. It has been proven over and over again, in Great Britain, Holland, France, Denmark and now in Sweden.

It´s the old islamic tactic of "when few and being a underdog- lay low. But when in strength- Kill the infidels!"

Israel will eventually surrender to the demands of the captors of IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Schalit and release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, a senior Hamas official said Wednesday.
Can you believe the gumption of this shmoe? Here, you give us one guy and will give you 1600. If this is seriously being considered Olmert might as well put up the white flag, have the Israelis pack their bags, and make sure they have their passports ready.

"We are aware of the fact that the negotiations with the occupation government [over the release of the prisoners] are difficult and facing many obstacles, but we also know that Israel has no choice but to succumb to our demands," said Yehya Musa, deputy head of Hamas's Change and Reform parliamentary list. "Israel knows very well that this is the only way to secure the release of its soldiers."

This is the exact way that Gangster and drug dealers take over neighborhoods. Give in a little at a time until there is nothing left to give and give it anyhow. Hamas is guilty of an illegal act and are now compounding that with blackmail. If this is the type of government we are supposed to deal with we might as well hand everything over to the barbarians. This is NOT how a civilized government acts. Giving in to this demand only makes matters worse and guarantees it will happen again on a larger scale.

PA Information Minister Mustafa Barghouti claimed that Israel's refusal to accept all the demands of the captors was "a sign of the weakness of the Israeli government."
The Israeli government, he added, has proven once again that it was unable to deal with recurring initiatives made by the Palestinians.

"Israel is therefore fully responsible for the delay in achieving a prisoner exchange," he said.

"The Israeli government, through its procrastination, is responsible for the fact that Gilad Schalit is still being held captive."

Barghouti called on the international community to exert pressure on Israel to accept the demands of the captors. He also rejected Israel's position that it would not release prisoners with Jewish blood on their hands.

When I was a boy- Part IV- Redemption

It has been said that the eskimos has 52 different kinds of words for different kinds of snow, and that everyone of them can be used as a curse. I find it very likely to be true.

During my service at the Artic Rangers, I (litteraly) tasted everyone of those different types of snow- and then some.

You got for instance the "icy snow", the "wet snow", the "yellow snow" (use your imagination here) and then ofcourse the "powder snow"!

Powder snow is quite cool on alpine downslopes, not so when you are trying to ski crosscountry with a ranger backpack!

So here is the big question.

How do you take a dump in meter- high powder snow?

The ways of doing it ranged from desperate to stupid and utterly insane.

You can not dig a hole, because the snow will just fall in to the hole filling it up again. You have not got the time- within the brake of a march- to make a makeshift latrin. What do you do?

Some guys tried just to stand in the snow, longjhons, fatigues and snow- camoflague trousers dragged down just enough to- well... clear the area. Then placing a couple of meters of toiletpaper between their legs, and just hoping for the best. Needless to say; it was not always sucessful.

Another strategy was to climb up a tree. That is all fine and dandy when you are in the low lands. The problem is, when you get up to higher altitudes, the trees also gets thinner.

After a foodbrake, just below the treeline of a mountain; I felt the need to go and take a leak. I waded through the snow and went behind a cliffside´. There I discovered one of my mates. The scenario was; he had tried to climb up one of the "dwarf birch trees"- that grows just along the treeline. He got up right and well, stripped and started doing his buissness. While doing it he discovered that the tree was not as sturdy as he thought it was. It had slowly started to bend over. When I found him, he was laying on his back in the snow, holding the tree, with his bare ass firmly planted in the snow.

He looked over at me, and through gritted teehts said something like "pppppllleeeeaaassse". I took a long look at him, turned around and walked away.

There are just some things that you don´t do, even for a friend. I would probably take a bullet for him, but that was my limit.

Swedish newspapers...

Svenska Dagbladet (The Swedish Daily Times), runs a story about a "poor Swedish, pregnant teenager" that was arrested on the road to Kenya- a well known escaperoute for the islamists in Somalia.

First: The seventeen year old is the daughter to the president of the Swedish muslim councel. She allegedly went for a sun- vacation in Dubai during the christmas hollidays. Well there she (and her husband) descided to travel to the well known vacation resort known as Somalia som 4000 km away from Dubai. The Ethiopian invasion had not started at this time, but it was well known at the time that Somalia was concidered a "failed state", ruled by islamists... It does not seem to be the "ideale" vacation resort for a pregnant Swedish teenager- don´t you agree?

Second: Nor the girl or her husband had any previous connections to Somalia whatsoever!

Third: The couple did not in any way alert their relatives back in Sweden about their changed "vacation plans". Doing so from one harmless spot to another should not raise any eyebrows. But if the intentions with the travels were of a more sinister charactere, maby it would be different- huh?

Fourth: The goal of the "vacation trip" to Somalia were´nt the capitol city or any of the long beach resorts there. On the contrary the couple chose to travel down south and meet up with other "vacation celebraters" in an area well known for it´s high concentration of islamist illegal combattants. They apparently became so sweet friends with them that they joined their new friends on another travel towards the Kenyan border after the Ethiopian invasion. Well there the "scary American Army" interrupted their cosy stay in the country and they were shipped back to Somalia.

The headlines and the body in the article just cries out for the outrageous atrocities this girl and her husband had to go through (maby the feared belly slap?), but do not question for a second what the couple was doing in Somalia. Well they are free and back in Sweden now- only time will tell.

Have I Got a Car for You!

By Kurt Vonnegut

"I used to be the owner and manager of an automobile dealership in West Barnstable, Massachusetts, called “Saab Cape Cod.” It and I went out of business 33 years ago. The Saab then as now was a Swedish car, and I now believe my failure as a dealer so long ago explains what would otherwise remain a deep mystery: Why the Swedes have never given me a Nobel Prize for Literature. Old Norwegian proverb: “Swedes have short dicks but long memories.”

Listen: The Saab back then had only one model, a bug like a VW, a two-door sedan, but with the engine in front. It had suicide doors opening into the slipstream. Unlike all other cars, but like your lawnmower and your outboard, it had a two-stroke rather than a four-stroke engine. So every time you filled your tank with gas you had to pour in a can of oil as well. For whatever reason, straight women did not want to do this.

The chief selling point was that a Saab could drag a VW at a stoplight. But if you or your significant other had failed to add oil to the last tank of gas, you and the car would then become fireworks. It also had front-wheel drive, of some help on slippery pavements or when accelerating into curves. There was this selling point as well: As one prospective customer said to me, “They make the best watches. Why wouldn’t they make the best cars, too?” I was bound to agree.

The Saab back then was a far cry from the sleek, powerful, four-stroke Yuppie uniform it is today. It was the wet dream, if you like, of engineers in an airplane factory who had never made a car before. “Wet dream,” did I say? Get a load of this: There was a ring on the dashboard, connected to a chain running over pulleys in the engine compartment. Pull on it, and at the far end it would raise a sort of window shade on a spring-loaded roller behind the front grill. That was to keep the engine warm while you went off somewhere. So, when you cam back, if you hadn’t stayed away too long, the engine would start right up again.

But if you stayed away too long, window shade or not, the oil would separate from the gas and sink like molasses to the bottom of the tank. So when you started up again, you would lay down a smokescreen like a destroyer in a naval engagement. And I actually blacked out the whole town of Woods Hole at high noon that way, having left a Saab on a parking lot there for about a week. I am told old timers there still wonder out loud about where all that smoke could have come from. I came to speak ill of Swedish engineering, and so diddled myself out of a Nobel Prize."

Have a nice ride dude!

I know Vonnegut could be considered a "leftist"- but his works has always entertained me. Slaughterhouse five was one of the first "grown up " novels I read at an early age. He had a way with language- simple- but yet very profound that I think is very compelling. He also was very funny- and I like that!

Almost 2/3 of Turks oppose Erdogan’s election as President of country

"/PanARMENIAN.Net/ While in Turkey approaches the presidential marathon, the start of which is scheduled for April 16 and which will decide who will become the new head of the country with a 7-year term, grows on the political tension. On the eve of elections local NGOs on April 14 are planing to hold a rally in Ankara in support for democracy. In its turn opposition threatens by turning to the Constitutional Court if during the first stage of presidential elections a constitutional majority is not formed in the parliament, where the voting will be held.

During the first two stages of elections at least 367 MPs of 550-member parliament must be present, which makes the constitutional majority. Otherwise the voting will be declared invalid. The ruling Justice and Development party has 354 mandates, that’s why it cannot independently form a constitutional representation in the legislative body. The National Republican Party has 153, right-central Party of Homeland – 19 mandates. Also there are 10 independent and 7 MPs from other parties in the Turkish Majlis. Besides there are 7 vacant seats in the parliament and Speaker Bülent Arınç, who is from the ruling party, does not participate in the voting.

Latest polls show that almost two-third of Turkish citizens are against Erdogan’s election as the president of the country. 71.2 percent said they are sure Erdogan must not nominate for the presidential post. Only 23.6 percent of respondents supported the Prime Minister, Cumhuriyet newspaper informs analyzing the results of a poll conducting by Sonar among 1 659 people in 14 large provinces of Turkey, RIA “Novosti” reports.

Turkey will elect his 11th president in April. Only twice Turkish MPs have been able to elect the next president unanimously, when the founder of modern Turkish State Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his successor Ismet Inonu headed the country. Most often presidents have been elected during the third stage. The last three presidents Turgut Özal, Süleyman Demirel and Ahmed Necdet Sezer, whose term will be over in a few months, have been elected exactly this way."

I´m not shure what to make out of this. But it could be a teeny little light in the darkness- maby.

Woman bomber kills 17 Iraqi police recruits

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A woman suicide bomber killed 17 police recruits
outside an Iraqi police station northeast of Baghdad on Tuesday in the first
major attack on volunteers for local security forces this year.

A guard at the station and police officials said the woman was wearing an
Islamic gown and had been strapped with a belt filled with explosives.

The attack wounded 33 people in the majority Sunni Muslim town of
Muqdadiya, 90 km (50 miles) from the capital.

"The recruits were bringing along their files and they were intending to
line up when all of a sudden there was a big explosion," the guard said.
The
woman had been acting suspiciously as she walked among the dozens of recruits,

Google shows Terrorists how to reach America

That's right. Google gives our enemies directions on how to reach our shores:

It is well known that London is now a free port of entry for any Muslim in the world. When the flying Imams were removed from a US Airways flight in the Twin Cities, it put terrorists on notice that everyone was now onto watching Muslims closely if they tried to come into this country through normal means. But Google has now given them directions on how to enter this country undetected. All they have to do is enter London (which is very, very easy) and then coming here is done by following Google Maps Directions:

1) Go to Google maps here
2) click on "get directions"
3. type London in the first box (the "from" box)
4. type New York in the second box (the "to" box) & hit "get directions" on the same line
5. scroll down to step #37

Is that outrageous or what?

When I was a boy- part three- Redux

When I did my obligatory military service in the Arctic Rangers, we very seldom slept in our baracks over at the regiment. 90% of the time we were out in the fields (that meaning the arctic tundra of Sweden). There we bunked in heavy canavas tents with a wooden heated stove to keap us from freezing to death. I know, in this day and age, burning wood in a stove is not the smartest thing to do; but this was a while ago after all.

The eight- man patrol tents we were issued with managed to keep us from freezing to death in the arctic temperatures, ranging down to -54 centigrades, but had a serious shortcoming. They were designed for people with a lenght under 170 cm. Me being 186 cm in lenght had to lay in "fosterposition" to fit in there, and even doing so I burned up thre sleepingbags against the red hot stove during my service.

When doing fieltrips back then, food was hard currency. You never could get enough calories to burn against the harsh wether conditions. And because our backpacks allready weighed in at up to 70 kilos (with radios and extra ack´s), a can of food was more valuable than even tobacco or the latest issue of Playboy. The only thing more valuable than food was sleeptime.

After being out on an 21 day long excercice I had traded a lot of sleeptime against food rations. This in an outfit that aimes at giving it´s soldiers three hours of sleep for every 24 hours! The lack of sleep- but more importantly- the constant dehydration you are being under, after a day or so get´s you to what we call "field coma".

After 21 days of sleepdepravation and to little fluid to drink; I was- well kind of beaten up, so to speak.

Anyway, we got back to the regiment (the base). Did the maintenace of all our equipment, and around 11:30 PM was ready to hit the bunks.

For some reason our platoon commander (I do not remember what it was) ordered a full locker inspection at that time (yeah- he was a sadistic a-hole). A full locker inspection means that everyone has to bring out all their gear out in to the corridore, place it in exact order on the floor and damn you if something was not folded or placed to millimeter preciseness.

Then you have to put all the stuff back in the lockers with millimeter precision again for the morning inspection. Needless to say- this was not... something we wanted to do there and then.

I started to think over the exact orders we had been given. He had shouted to us that he wanted "TO SEE ALL OF OUR LOCKERS OUT IN THE CORRIDORE IN FIVE MINUTES!"

Hmm, I thought. Why not then. So I made an arragenment with my mates; and the whole platoon dragged out their lockers out in to the corridore and then waited for inspection.

When the PC finally made his entry through the swinging doors, he took a step in and then froze almost in the position of a pointig dog. We were all standing in attention, expressionless faces, staring straight ahead.

Ten seconds went by. Then the PC turned on his heels and went out. Even through two closed doors we could here the hysterical laughter from his office. We had to send our platoon sergeant out to se if we were to be released for the night. When he returned, he told us that he had found our PC laying under his desk giggeling. Five minutes later I was firmly asleep.

Good night everybody. Sleep well!

Jobless migrants and women boxers rock the cradle of the nanny state

Roger Boyes in Malmö

If there is a revolution coming to Sweden you would not want to be on the wrong side of Josefin. Watched by open-mouthed sparring partners, she thunders her fists against a punchball as if to say: “Some iron has entered the Swedish soul.”

And so it has. Sweden, renowned for decades as the model of cosy womb-to-tomb welfare socialism, has suddenly become a much rawer place.

The centre-right governing coalition of Fredrik Reinfeldt, which came to power last autumn, is seen by David Cameron as a potential template for Tory fortunes. Since the election they have seemed determined to roll back the nanny state after many decades of Social Democratic feather-bedding.

On the agenda is abolition of wealth tax, cuts in income tax and a privatisation programme that is already starting to excite foreign investors.
But the most symbolic act so far has been lifting the 37-year ban on professional boxing, outlawed by the Social Democrats as cruel and morally dubious. “It was a political move, not a medical one,” says coach Peter Bermsten, as Josefin rubs herself down. “It took a political decision to bring us back to reason.”

We are talking in the Fox fight club in Malmö, its walls plastered with yellowing posters from the days when Sweden was a world-class boxing nation. One, from 1959, shows Ingemar Johansson set to thump the heavyweight Floyd Patterson.

Sweden has some catching up to do. “Boxing did not fit into the Social Democratic self-image of the Swedes in the 1960s,” says Åse Sandell, a towering flaxen-haired middleweight, who has risen to the top of women’s boxing only by moving to the United States.

Boxing is booming again and Sandell has become the idol of a new generation. The smack of leather on leather, the grunt of young boxers who are no longer confined to heavily regulated amateur bouts: this is the sound and the fury of a cultural revolution in the making. Not the whiff of cordite, but of embrocation and sweat.

Sweden’s social welfare model, so admired by Gordon Brown, was ripe for overhaul. Indeed, so ripe that the Social Democrats grudgingly started their own reforms, cutting down, for example, on Europe’s most generous sick-leave arrangements, which were blamed for turning a healthy nation into a society of work-dodgers.

But they ducked the key question: how much should the state steer the inner life of the individual? This, after all, is a country that bans all television advertising aimed at the under-12s, and where the Government retains a monopoly on alcohol sales to stop people drinking too much.

As we stand with Anders Ljungberg, a local journalist, in Malmö’s immigrant quarter, we see a group of Kurdish teenagers scuffling playfully at the bus stop. A Volvo draws up and a white Swede leans out of the window; the kids quieten down. “He was ticking them off,” Mr Ljungberg says. “He probably told them that there were better ways of behaving.”
The greatest compliment you can pay a child in Sweden, says Åke Daun, a sociologist, is to say that he is tyst och fin, quiet and well-behaved. The Social Democrats came into power in 1932, have ruled for 65 of the past 74 years and ensured that Swedish adults, too, were tyst och fin. They paid the highest taxes in Europe and in return got the biggest handouts. Parents pay a maximum of £90 a month for childcare, receive up to 80 per cent of their salary during their 390-day maternity leave, receive free university education and access to free retirement homes.

But the sums, even with the current strong economic growth, do not add up. Swedes are afraid of losing their privileges. But they are even more afraid that they will slip down the prosperity league. In 1970 they had the fourth-highest per capita income in the world. Now, as the sociologist Johan Norberg says: “If Sweden was one of the states of America, it would be the fifth poorest.”

“We have to make it easier to get work,” says Djordje Jovanovic, 72, a former waiter who helped to vote the Social Democrats out of power. “I don’t want us to lose our wealth. When I go to my place on the Costa del Sol I see really poor Brits pocketing the bread that they get with their soup in cheap restaurants. We shouldn’t stoop that low, and that means working harder here, securing our future.”

At H&M, the Swedish fashion retailer, we meet Johana Hållin, a 28-year-old teacher. “We have to make it more profitable to work than to be on social welfare,” she says with passion, and she really does seem to be the voice of young Sweden. Certainly she fits into our caricature of a Swede: blonde, funny, she even teaches the Swedish language.

Yet Sweden is losing its blonde-ness. Some 23 per cent of the population of Malmö, Sweden’s third city, were born abroad; if their children, born in Sweden, are taken into account, over 35 per cent have foreign connections. Somalis, Afghans, Turks, Iraqis and Palestinians are all wedged into the state-sponsored estates in Malmö’s Rosengard district and almost all live on welfare.

So here is the most explosive issue in Prime Minister Reinfeldt’s quiet revolution: if he wants to cut social welfare handouts to force people to work, what happens to the foreigners who cannot get jobs because they are foreigners? They get poorer and, since they are being told constantly to behave more like Swedes, they will start to become more demanding. No more tyst och fin.

That is why Mr Reinfeldt has taken the unusual step of appointing Nyamko Sabuni as Integration Minister. She is neither blonde nor blue-eyed: she is originally from Burundi and is a Muslim. And rarely has a Swedish minister openly uttered such tough sentiments.
She wants to ban the head-scarf for girls under the age of 15, make visits to the gynaecologist compulsory for schoolgirls to ensure that they are not forcibly circumcised, cut state funds for Muslim schools and stopped funding for a Centre Against Racism. There is one central aim, she says: to get migrants into jobs. “Language and work are the keys to integration,” says Ms Sabuni. “The Social Democrats drove people into a dependency culture.” The Swedish model was based on a homogenous society — not only white, but also hard Protestant workers shy of public conflict and ever ready to work out consensus. That was the starting point for Gunnar and Alvar Myrdal, the spiritual founders of the welfare state in the 1930s. The assumption was that if it did not work in Sweden, with its population of only nine million, it would not work anywhere else.

It really does seem to be foundering. Sweden is a society full of hidden tensions and unemployment, an intrusive state and citizens frustrated by their lack of choice. It has been defeated not only by the arithmetic (of how to support an expanding legion of welfare claimants and pensioners on the basis of a shrinking workforce) but also by sharpening global competition.
Travel on the 999 bus from Copenhagen to Malmö across the formidable Oeresund bridge and the accompanying music is of clinking glass — bottles of booze bought in cheaper Danish shops. State-controlled alcohol sales, in southern Sweden at least, are sure to buckle.
In the 1970s toy shops were forbidden from selling warlike toys, even water pistols: now everything is available over the internet and 10-year-olds in Malmö can admire a plastic replica Nazi Tiger tank in a cheap unregulated high street store.

The Social Democrats trumpeted the defeat of street prostitution after passing a law that jails kerb-crawlers rather than women who sell their bodies. But trade has simply moved from the red light district on Industry Street to the laptop, with most assignations being made online.
The nanny state is on the retreat. The idea that a just society can be engineered by an all-seeing bureaucracy has had its day.

The admiration for Sweden from the British Left and Right is thus slightly puzzling. The interest of the Conservatives — David Cameron and George Osborne are recent visitors — can be explained by the need to find an example of how a long-lived Centre-left government can be toppled without polarising society.
But the real change in Sweden is coming from the people themselves. They want more freedom of choice and are willing to put with a few punches on the way. Ask Josefin. But watch out for her left hook.

Easter and egghunts

When I was a child, my parents made me and my siblings do a egghunt on Easters eave. It´s not the kind of egghunts that is done in Anglo countrys. Rather than hunting for real chicken eggs, we were searching for cardboard eggs filled with candy. They were big! I´m talking of almost two pounds of tooth gobbeling sweets.

My son got one such an egg to day. Filled with 20$ worth of candy. He very much enjoyed the gift, since he almost never get any sweets otherwise.

I´m remembering an eastern a couple of years ago, when he did not get an easter egg bcause he was much to young. It was the Good Friday- or as we call it here in Sweden "The Long Friday"-. I was enjoying a bath, reading a very good novel by Alastair Reynolds. My son was playing outside the bathroom (wich ofcourse was unlocked with an open door).

For some reason (I do not remember why), I had drawn the showercurtain shut, enveloping the tub.

After a while I heard som noice in the bathroom, the showercurtain ratteled- was drawn to the side- and my son stood there with a big grin on his face and said "HI-HI"!
I echoed back "Hi-Hi"- and continued reading my book.

A minute later there was some ratteling of the curtain again- it was drawn back- and there was my son again with´an even bigger grin on his face, once again giggeling "Hi-Hi"! My "Hi--Hi" echoed back, before i continued to read my novel.

A minute later, there was some ratteling of the curtain for the third time. It was drawn back; my son grinning even wider said "Hi-Hi", and threw the hairdryer in to the water!

Well, since I´m now writing this- you probably understand that it was not plugged in. But you should have seen me doing the fastest jump out of the water ever known to mankind. I neárly broke the soundbarrier!

"Alternative Easter Egg Hunt Near White House to Use Fake Cluster Bombs Made By Kids

WASHINGTON — Anti-war and human rights activists plan an unusual take on the Easter egg hunt by holding an Easter cluster-bomb hunt on Monday.
Fake cluster bombs made by children will be scattered around Lafayette Park, north of the White House.

Hundreds of people will attend the White House Easter Egg Roll while activists hold their alternative cluster-bomb hunt on the other side of the executive mansion.

Brian Hennessey, a spokesman for the Vineeta Foundation, a group sponsor, said the event aims to be humorous and fun for kids. Organizers also want to bring attention that cluster bombs cause death and destruction, Hennessey said.
A cluster bomb releases several hundred smaller bombs that might explode or linger on the ground as land mines, which are often found and picked up by children."

It's the demographics, stupid - the Flight from Islam

"I am 62 but I expect to see in my lifetime a number of formerly Christian countries in Europe turning Muslim. There are five reasons for this dismal, frightening prognosis:

1) Muslims are immigrating to Europe in unprecedented numbers [NPR].
2) When they get there, Muslims are reproducing faster than a bacterial infection [PBS]
3) Muslims cleverly exploit the European welfare state further burdening the youngest and hardest working thus encouraging further emigration [ParaPundit].
4) European Christians are fleeing from the growing Muslim infestation and consequent barbarities [Pajamas Media].
5) The Christians who remain are not procreating fast enough to maintain their numbers [HumanEvents.com]."

Quebec- the last stand?

"While nobody was watching, Quebec quietly became the most self-confident province in the country. A series of events over the past few years have shown Quebec to be proud of its liberalism, proud of Western civilization and proud of itself.
The latest involves the Quebec government giving a Muslim woman who wants to be a prison guard a choice: She could either remove her hijab or she could train to be a prison guard. But she could not do both. The woman chose the hjiab."

The wisest thing all societies can do is say, right from the beginning, there will be no compromise on liberal values. Muslims deserve equal rights, not special rights.

U.N. Rights Council Adopts Resolution Against Religious Defamation at Muslim Prodding

Islamic countries pushed through a resolution at the U.N. Human Rights Council on Friday urging a global prohibition on the public defamation of religion a response largely to the furor last year over caricatures published in a Danish newspaper of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad.
The statement proposed by the Organization of Islamic Conference addressed what it called a "campaign" against Muslim minorities and the Islamic religion around the world since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.

The resolution, which was opposed by a number of other non-Muslim countries, "expresses deep concern at attempts to identify Islam with terrorism, violence and human rights violations."

It makes no mention of any other religion besides Islam, but urges countries "to take resolute action to prohibit the dissemination of racist and xenophobic ideas and material aimed at any religion or its followers that constitute incitement and religious hatred, hostility, or violence."
The resolution was adopted by a 24-14 vote with nine abstentions. Canada, Japan and South

Korea joined European countries in opposition, primarily citing its excessive focus on Islam and incompatibility with fundamental rights such as the freedoms of speech and thought.
"The problem of religious intolerance is worldwide and not limited to certain religions," said Brigitta Maria Siefker-Eberle of Germany, speaking on behalf of the 27-nation European Union.
There are 17 Muslim countries in the 47-nation human rights council. Their alliance with China, Cuba, Russia and most of the African members means they can almost always achieve a majority.

Human Rights Watch said the resolution could endanger the basic rights of individuals.
The council, which last year replaced the discredited U.N. Human Rights Commission, has no power beyond drawing international attention to rights issues and scrutiny of abuses in certain countries.

The move at the council was initiated last year after protests across the Islamic world drew attention to caricatures of Muhammad first printed in Danish paper Jyllands-Posten in September 2005.

Protectionism in the US is growing ever faster

"The value of U.S. trade and earnings on foreign investment increased 32-fold between 1970 and 2005 and 130 percent between 1994 (the year before the successful completion of the Uruguay Round of trade talks) and 2005 in nominal terms. In 2005, the value of U.S. trade in goods and services alone stood at a record 27 percent of GDP, up from a mere 11 percent in 1970 and 22 percent in 1994. Today, at least 12 million Americans owe their jobs to exports to the rest of the world. The United States' role in free trade is so central that were the country to appear to be closing its doors to trade, it would send a dangerous signal to the rest of the world that protectionism is acceptable. Any resulting protectionism would constrict the main arteries of global trade and jeopardize continued economic growth.

Unfortunately, protectionist sentiments and partisan polarization seem to be on the rise on Capitol Hill. In the 2006 congressional elections, several Democratic Party candidates won on anti-free-trade platforms. The new Democratic House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, has warned that their views need to be heeded in developing a new trade policy. Many Democrats are stating that they will refuse to renew President Bush's trade-promotion authority (known as "fast-track" authority), which allows the president to negotiate trade agreements and requires Congress to vote on them without amendments, after it expires at the end of June. The White House has relied almost solely on Republican votes to push its trade policy through Congress."

The crime of an Assyrian christian in iraq- is to be an Assyrian christian

My brother in law is one of my best friends. He is intelligent, generous, has a great sence of humor and generally kind to all sorts of people. Being just 12 years older than me, he still has been a fatherfigure to me since my own father was- well- out of touch.

My brother in law is also a communist!

That means that when we meet up "I try not to step on any toes", as that.... would make it... hmm... You know!

The past weekend me and my son travelled over to my sister some distance away from where I live. My other sister with her husband (the brother in law) travelled 450 km to meet up with us. It was a social gathering as much as an opporturity to celebrate my sons fourth birthday.

One thing about leftist´s is that they tends to defend every official position that the "party" has- no matter how crazy they are. No reasoning or argument gets through to them- not even when presented with hard evidence.

Late at night, after a good dinner with wine and beer, I did the fatal misstake of dropping the islamic subject. I and my brother in law got in to a... well argument over the longgoing intentions of the islamist community (mark- islamist, not islamic), he just couldn´'t get it in to his head that islam is an ideology just as much as a religion. Not even after I throwed the most valid arguments at him and even showed him some information on internet. It just did not work!

I love him- and did not want to go any further with the argument, so I dropped the subject in matter. But this goes to show just how hardheaded the leftist´s are here in Europe when discussing certain matters. There is no reasoning; just the partys agenda. No individuality, and they are in majority.

Anyway, we had a nice weekend together. My son got a brand new bicykle. He wanted to try it out so we went outside to a reasonably untrafficed area. He got the peddaling right allmost emideatly, but had trouble with the braking.

I said to him several times "that you have to pedal backwards to stop", but to no avail. Finally I fysically showed him how to by pressing my hand against his foot.

He then took off again- and I called out for him to try to brake; and he did it by bending over and pushing at his foot with his hand!

Well what can you say? At least he can read farily well!
